Woden Malou Leather Fifty

Malou is new to the family, and we think she's so cool!  Love at first sight.  She has some very pretty details, like the lacing and the colour accents.  And... she's as comfy as Sophie!  At least 50% of all the polyester and PU parts are made out of recycled PET bottles. 

That includes the non-leather parts on top, the backing of the shoes, and even the yarn to stitch them.  WODEN got rid of the inks to print logo and size, these are now lasered on, which is way more ecological.  The calf leather is recycled as much as possible, and ofcourse they keep using their famous fish leather. 

WODEN used new techniques in the sole, making them even better and avoid the use of glue as much as possible.  The insole consists of naturally shock-absorbing cork on top of the extra-soft NATURAL SOFT midsole, while the outsole is in natural rubber combined with at least 10% recycled rubber.

• features fish leather, which is a by-product of the Nordic fishing industry, but it is also known as a material that is 10 times more durable than calf leather thanks to its cross-fibre structure. By comparison, the fibres in calf leather run in only one direction. The material is processed sustainably, for example, dyeing the leather is carried out with water from geothermal sources in Iceland.
